Meet Tiny Lights Mackenzie and Abby.  This brother and sister pair love playing with cars and trains together.  They also enjoy doing puzzles and any outdoor activity that involves water.

Older brother Mackenzie was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when he was just two years old.  His parents had to fight for him to be diagnosed since he was so young, his symptoms were not readily apparent.  Younger sister Abby was also diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when she turned two.  Both children have difficulty with verbal communication but tend to demonstrate their feelings through affectionate behaviour.  Abby has slightly more difficulty regulating her emotions and, as a result, she also suffers from tantrums. 

As a message to other families dealing with similar circumstances, Mackenzie and Abby’s parents say that “it does get better and easier ... there is support out there.”  Their hope for their Tiny Lights is that they may lead a “normal” life and that their “... loving uniqueness will help them shine.”
