Tiny Light Jesse is a happy toddler who loves cuddling with his mom and dad.  Just like any other two-year-old, he loves to bounce on the couch, play with light-up toys and hide the remote controls.  Jesse has amazed his parents with how well he has adapted to his visual problems.

Jesse was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma at nine months of age.  It was overlooked when he was born, misdiagnosed as blocked tear ducts.  When parents Jesse and Sharlene finally got an appointment to see an ophthalmologist, their son’s eyes had already stretched.  This resulted in near-sightedness with vision loss on the outside of Jesse’s eyes.  He is also extremely light sensitive so sometimes people mistakenly assume he is tired or shy.  Jesse has had four eye surgeries so far and more are inevitable.

With lots of love and support, this Tiny Light will be able to do anything anyone else can do.  The most amazing part of the journey has been watching Jesse grow and develop.  “He is our reason to smile. Even though he may have a disability, he is still perfect to us.”
