Tiny Light Megan is a very happy baby, always full of smiles. At six months old, she has lots of energy and determination. Even her doctors and nurses call her feisty.
Megan wasn’t due to arrive until February 2012. But after three ultrasounds, parents Shari and Ed were told their baby was extremely small and not growing. At 33 weeks, Shari was induced and taken in for an emergency cesarean. Megan weighed just 2 pounds 3 ounces at birth. She spent six weeks in the NICU before coming come. But her medical journey didn’t end there. Just ten days later, the little fighter had to have emergency surgery for inguinal hernias. “Even though Megan is so tiny she has been through so much and is so strong.”
Now Megan is growing and thriving at home. She loves playing on the floor with her toys. She also enjoys swimming. This Tiny Light will continue to be monitored for any underlying developmental issues, but her parents are optimistic everything will be good. “I hope for Megan to grow healthy and strong, and that she can continue to be a blessing to others as she already is to us.”
