There is no way to be in a bad mood around this Tiny Light. Ben has such a sunny personality and joy for life, he brightens everyone’s day. His family cherishes every moment with him and together they are ready to face any challenges.
Though Ben struggled with a number of medical problems since birth, he wasn’t diagnosed with Williams Syndrome until May 2010. It is a rare genetic condition that affects approximately 1 in 10,000 people. Williams Syndrome can cause feeding problems, cardiovascular issues and developmental delays. There are also a number of special characteristics shared by many people with WS: highly social personalities, musical affinity and great verbal skills.
Though some WS patients have graduated from high school, it’s not clear what Ben’s future holds. That’s the most difficult part for his parents and older siblings Noah and Alexia to accept. But this cheerful 6 year old provides plenty of inspiration. He loves playing with trucks and tractors, but he is happiest when he’s outside. He is also very musical and enjoys listening to songs.
“Ben is a very unique individual who touches every single person he meets…he just has a few extra challenges. We are now ready to help Ben face his challenges head on!”
